Installation method for crDroid (begonia)
Switching to crDroid with already installed TWRP Recovery:
P1. From another CFW, NON-CFW or GSI ROM:
Download latest build of ROM:
from official crDroid site (6.xx builds on Android 10);
from official crDroid site (7.xx builds on Android 11);
from Google Drive (8.x builds on Android 12.1).
Then download optional extras (if you need some of them):
Magisk. Remember to rename .apk to .zip for installation in TWRP;
Disable ForceEncrypt (DFE) patch for crDroid 8.x to get Data decryption working.
Reboot device into Recovery mode (hold on Vol+ and Power buttons).
Go to Wipe → Advanced Wipe → Select System, Vendor, Cache, Dalvik / ART → swipe to wipe these partitions.
Exit to the main menu, then go to Install → select the location of the installation files → install the crDroid and the extras you need.
When the installation is complete, exit to the main menu, then go to Wipe → Format Data → type yes on keyboard → click on Enter.
After formatting Data click on Reboot to System button.
P2. Dirty update of ROM:
Download latest build of ROM:
(also download all extras you have installed it before on a previous version of the system)
from official crDroid site (6.xx builds on Android 10);
from official crDroid site (7.xx builds on Android 11);
from Google Drive (8.x builds on Android 12.1).
Load the crDroid installation archive with all extras into the internal device memory. Reboot device into Recovery mode (hold on Vol+ and Power buttons).
Go to Wipe → Advanced Wipe → tick the boxes for System, Vendor, Dalvik/ART and Cache → swipe to clear partitions.
Flash the ROM installation archive and the extras that you installed previously. When installation is complete, press the Wipe Cache/Dalvik button (bottom left), then Reboot System button (bottom right).
Switching to crDroid from MIUI 10.0.x, 11.0.x, 12.0.x, 12.5.x:
(or if you don't have TWRP installed)
Download Recovery that correspond to your version of the MIUI (MIUI 10/11 A9, MIUI 12/11 A10, MIUI 12.5 A11), Platform-tools that corresponing to system that installed on your PC. Then move Recovery image to folder, where located Platform-tools and:
Reboot your device to Fastboot mode (hold on Vol- and Power buttons), then connect it to PC.
Open Terminal or Command prompt (cmd) and type:
cd C:/<path_to_platform-tools>
fastboot flash recovery <recovery_image_name>
3. After successfully image installation, hold on the Vol+ and Power buttons until the device reboots into main menu of Recovery mode.
(Notice: If you upgrading from MIUI 11 A9, device may reboot to Recovery mode for two times. Hold on the Vol+ and Power buttons until the device reboots to the main menu of TWRP)
Then follow the instructions of P1.
